Jaye Sitton

Jaye Sitton is a human rights lawyer from Morganton, North Carolina.  For the last eight years, she has worked internationally in the field of elections as a legal expert, with a focus on electoral dispute resolution in developing democracies and transitional societies.  She has served as a consultant for the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Cambodia.  Between 1996 and 2001, Ms. Sitton was a Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, where she represented the United States in cases against state and local governments that had discriminated unlawfully in the area of voting or employment.  Ms. Sitton graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law.  She also has a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
